Steve Nieve Gigs

I am completely over excited to be singing a few Elvis Costello songs with Mr Costello’s right hand man, all round genius keys player, Steve Nieve.  There are three dates in Liverpool, Bristol and London.   We’re hopefully going to play one or two of my tunes too.

Steve has been playing keyboards for Elvis Costello for over thirty years, firstly as a member of The Attractions, and in more recent times with The Imposters.  Anybody who has witnessed any of Elvis Costello’s live shows will appreciate the magic that occurs when Steve Nieve is let loose on the piano.  At these gigs Steve and his piano take centre stage.  You will hear intimate stories of his adventures with Elvis, a heart in mouth display of piano virtuosity, incendiary Steinway frenzy, and melodic inventiveness.

I met Steve when I was in Paris playing piano for Kathryn Williams.  I was so inspired hearing him play piano that night that when I came back I couldn’t be parted from my own piano.  I was trying to remember the hooks he played, and recreating them into my own material.  Those of you that saw me on my recent tour will have heard me talking about him and playing a bit of his beautiful piano piece ‘Muriel on the Beach’.

Tickets are available via the tour page of my website and it would be brilliant to see you there.
